This books was WONDERFUL! An absolute page turner the whole time, the story itself is such a whirlwind of ideas, characters, places, and feelings.
The world building is also fantastic! I love the mysterious nature of the Forever After and what it supposedly entails, as well as the larger ethical question it presents as information is revealed. And Lithaflora… I wish I could go there for an evening (or a decade).
I will say that there was just the right amount of steaminess, and it didn’t distract from the story, rather it informed a very inhuman setting with a very human urge. Despite all the high level thoughts presented and moral conflicts, the story is continually rooted in the humanness of Valen and her companions, and the strangeness of the Lunsoros. I was constantly left questioning what was going to happen next, and I have to admit that I could never guess correctly.
I loved the book! I cannot wait for the second one! Great job with the story and just know that this is a book I will most certainly read again.

The Chrysalis is a fantasy novel that pulls the reader into a realm of liminal reality just to bring us to a fantastical planet that has us question morality and motivation. It follows an intellectual women with seemingly clear motivations question everything about what she knows and how to return to the life she knew before.. if that’s even possible! Turns at every corner! To explain too much is to give it away! A must read for 2023.

Great book
loved this book and the characters. Had me hooked from beginning to end. Would highly recommend if you’re a fan of fantasy or science fiction. Can’t wait for book 2.
